SpaceX successfully launched Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral on Sunday

It was a special Father’s Day at Florida’s Space Coast.

At 6:21 p.m. on Sunday, SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launched from Cape Canaveral Space Station. It lifted an Indonesian Communications Satellite into orbit during a Father’s Day mission.

According to the International Trade Administration, the Satria-1 would help strengthen Internet networks and complement digital development in Indonesia.

As in previous launches, there’s never been a lack of crowds of spectators and space enthusiasts at Jetty Park and this time wasn’t any different.

“I’m anxious to be able to see when I can, and I’m excited when they are going off so much more often. and I get the opportunity. so, it’s great,” said Virginia Broderick, who is a teacher.

Broderick added she has seen at least 20 launches from Florida’s Space Coast.

The P.S.N. Satria-1 mission was the 30th launch from the space coast this year with another launch expected in just a few days.

ULA plans to launch a Delta four heavy rocket on a mission for the National Reconnaissance Office next week.

“It’s very impressive and it never gets old, " said Mike Gill, who is another Jetty Park visitor. “We’re glad to see it,” Gill added.

The Falcon Nine’s first state booster landed just off Florida’s Coast on a drone ship landing page station in the Atlantic Ocean.

Right now the Space Coast is still on pace to see more than 90 launches before the end of 2023.
