Spanx changed the game when it launched more than two decades ago, quickly becoming *the* go-to brand for shapewear. With the ability to instantly streamline any look, the female-founded brand is well-known in the intimates department. But as many in-the-know shoppers have come to discover, the company also makes a ton of other best-selling fashion products—most notably a pair of faux leather leggings—that have developed quite the cult following. And through today, August 28, only, they just so happen to be on sale for half off in the camo print and 56% off in a side-stripe version, meaning there’s never been a better time to try ‘em out.

These stylish and universally-flattering bottoms, which had close to 3,000 glowing reviews for the plain black pair on Nordstrom below they sold out, have women everywhere taking to their keyboards to sing their praises. Normally priced at just under $100 in camo and $110 in side-stripe, they're currently available in for just $48.90 for both. That matches the lowest price we've ever seen them go for, which was back in April.
So what makes these pants a staple in the wardrobe of cool chicks everywhere, you ask? Our staff writer, Rachel Murphy, reviewed these leggings to see if they were really worth the hype and found that they were every bit as flattering and comfy as reviewers had promised.
Boasting a contoured waistband, a seam-free center and a design that hits right at your natural waist, Rachel said that they didn't ride up in uncomfortable places, like other leggings you’ve probably got in your closet. Plus, they’re made of an 87 percent nylon and 13 percent Spandex/elastane blend, making them both soft and stretchy without bagging out or becoming shapeless.
As Rachel noted in her review, they do tend to run a bit small, so sizing up is a good idea (plus-sizing is also available in both camo and side-stripe), and the sheen of the polyurethane coating does make a noticeable “swish” sound when you walk. These pants also lack any pockets to hold your keys, ID or phone, which could potentially be a dealbreaker for a busy woman on-the-go. Ultimately, however, she determined that the reviews don’t lie—these leggings really are the bee’s knees.
