A signpost outside Kantina, an Asian inspired takoria and cocktail bar in historic Depot Square, the heart of downtown Sparkill. The restaurant features indoor and outdoor dining along with a full bar and intimate cocktail lounge.

Two cyclists ride Sept. 12 along the Joseph B. Clarke Rail Trail in Sparkill located at Depot Square. The rail trial, which was the intersection of two train lines, the Northern Branch, which connected in Jersey City to the Piermont Branch Terminus on the pier, and the New York and Erie Railroad, which headed west toward Suffern and Western New York, is now a biking and walking/running trail from Tappan to Blauvelt.

The intersection of Union and Main streets at Depot Square in Sparkill. This building was built in 1909. Depot Square was the intersection of two train lines, the Northern Branch that started in Jersey City to connect to the Piermont Branch Terminus on the pier, and the New York and Erie Railroad heading west toward Suffern.

A view of Depot Square in Sparkill. Depot Square was the intersection of several rail lines, the New York's Erie Railroad, which continued west toward Suffern and all points west and the Northern Branch, which originated in Jersey City and continued to Piermont Pier and Nyack.

Sacred Heart Chapel, on the grounds of Dominican Convent in Sparkill, dedicated in 1914. The Dominican Sisters of Sparkill are part of the worldwide Dominican Family founded by Saint Dominic in the 13th century.

Cyclists ride past the old Sparkill Firehouse on Union Street, which is now the Union Arts Center and home to The Roost Restaurant.

The Route 9W overpass crosses over the Sparkill Creek and the pond at Eleanor Stroud Park, which was used to collect ice in the winters as well as ice skating. Travelers in the late 1800's and early 1900's traveling along Route 3 (changed to Route 9W in 1905), which connects northeast New Jersey to Albany, would work their way through Sparkill, the overpass moved traffic over the village.

The Christ Episcopal Church in Sparkill. This stone church was built in 1865. It is Rockland's first established Episcopal Church.
