Sparks Fly From Power Line Downed by Gusting Winds in Northern Illinois

Gusting winds downed a power line in McHenry, Illinois, causing a power outage in the area during the early morning hours of Tuesday, October 25, according to the McHenry Police Department.

The National Weather Service warned that a storm system would “bring waves of rain to the area” on Tuesday.

Video posted by McHenry Police Department in the early morning hours on Tuesday shows sparks flying from a fallen power line in Petersen Park.

Police said Com-Ed, the local electric utility service, “had power restored in under two hours.”
