Spartanburg Water issues boil advisory for restaurants, businesses after water line break

Due to a water line break, Spartanburg Water issued a boil water advisory Monday for customers in the Highway 56 and Camp Croft area, south to the intersection of Highway 215.

Spartanburg Water has issued a boil water advisory for 15 customers impacted by a water line break Thursday on Reidville Road at Apollo Drive in the city's west side.

Until further notice, affected customers have been advised to boil water for cooking or drinking at least one full minute, then cool water as needed for use.

Also, any ice made from water that has not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes, according to a press release.

Customers may experience an interruption of service or reduction in water pressure.

Spartanburg Water spokeswoman Jennifer Candler said the impacted water main will be repaired as soon as possible.

Once repaired, the water line serving the affected area will be flushed and tested to make sure no contamination has occurred, she said.

The affected customers are:

Spartanburg Toyota, Benson Hyundai, Pure American Energy, Catholic Church of Jesus Our Risen Savior, Harrison’s Outfitters and Workwear, Reidville Road Pharmacy, Pho Your Choice Restaurant, Dollar General and First Horizon Bank.

Also, Valvoline Instant Oil Change, Vic Bailey Volkswagen, Clock Restaurant, Affordable Insurance, Spartanburg Regional Occupational Health nd 3902 Apollo Drive.
