Spartanburg Water issues boil water advisory after water line break in Camp Croft area

A boil water advisory has been issued for about 1,800 customers near Highway 56 and the Camp Croft area. The area also includes south to the intersection of Highway 215 in Spartanburg.

Spartanburg Water crews were at the scene Monday working to repair a 10-inch water line break, according to a press release issued by spokeswoman Jennifer Candler.

Customers may have experienced an interruption of service or reduced water pressure.

Once the line is repaired, the affected area will be flushed and tested to make sure no contamination has occurred.

In the meantime, customers are advised to boil water intended for drinking or cooking vigorously for at least one full minute. Then cool the water as needed prior to use.

Also, any ice made during the period of this advisory from water that has not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes.

Affected customers will be notified once water quality sampling results have been received.
