Spartans in the NBA weekly update: Miles Bridges, Jaren Jackson Jr. impress in opening week

The NBA is back and there are a slew of former Michigan State basketball players suiting up around the league to start the season.

Below, we put together some of the highlights from the Spartans around the NBA, including some big shots and big dunks.

Miles Bridges breaking out as a star for the Hornets?

This is an important season for Miles Bridges. The Charlotte Hornets chose not to extend him and instead see how the season plays out before attempting to re-up his contract. As an athletic wing who shot 40-percent from three last year, he could be set to make a huge payday if he can breakout, and that’s exactly what he’s been doing.

Bridges has dropped over 30 points in his last two games and looks like he might be blossoming into a legitimate star in the Eastern Conference as he and his buddy LaMelo Ball have led the Hornets to a perfect 3-0 record to start the year.

Oh, and he did this:

Jaren Jackson Jr. sinks gamewinner

The Memphis Grizzlies have a lot of confidence in Jaren Jackson Jr., as evidenced by the huge extension they gave him before the season.

He has made them look very smart, at least early in the season. Jackson Jr. has looked great, averaging 17 points, 2.5 blocks, 6.5 rebounds and is shooting 46-percent from three. He also hit a huge gamewinner to put the Grizzlies over the Clippers off a pass from his buddy Ja Morant.

Draymond Green: Still good

I’ve got an important NBA update for you: Draymond Green is still good, and so are the Warriors. Green is nearly averaging a triple double and looking like he will contend for another Defensive Player of the Year award this year and the Warriors are undefeated at the time of this post.
