A special election for Two Rivers City Council will be held this spring. Here's who's running.
MANITOWOC - Two candidates are running for the same seat on the Two Rivers City Council during a special election in April — Jason Ring and Roger Van Voltenberg.
The two will face off for a two-year term on the council.
The special election is being held concurrently with the regular spring election on April 5. Three other seats on the city council are up for election this spring, and six candidates are looking to fill them. Those candidates are incumbent Bill LeClair, Larry Thomas, Tim Petri, Scott Stechmesser, Doug Wolf and Travis Vanlanen. Incumbents Mark Bittner and Jay Remiker declared noncandidacy in December.
In Manitowoc County, the only race that will need a primary election is the one for the Manitowoc School Board. Seven people are vying for three seats — incumbents Lisa Johnston, Dave Nickels and Meredith Sauer, and challengers Christopher Able, Matthew Phipps, Matthew Spaulding and Tony Vlastelica. The primary election to narrow down the candidates to six will take place Feb. 15.
Manitowoc County executive is also up for election this spring, as is the entire county board. Bob Ziegelbauer, the current county executive, will be running unopposed.

People can register to vote in person at their municipal clerk's office or online at myvote.wi.gov. To register, people will need to provide proof of residence in the form of their driver's license, a bank statement, utility bill, etc.
