Special Weather Statement For Inland Sections Of Southern CT

Information via National Weather Service:

A special weather statement has been issued for inland sections of Fairfield, New Haven, Middlesex, and New London counties this morning.

"Light rain, or a mixture of light rain and snow, will overspread the region early this morning," the weather service said. "The precipitation will become all snow between 5 and 7 am. The snow will then continue through the rest of the morning commute, tapering off late this morning.

"Snowfall accumulations around an inch are expected. Roads may become snow covered, especially on untreated surfaces," the weather service said. "Temperatures will also fall into the upper 20s to around 30 degrees, freezing any standing water or snow that initially melted. Motorists should anticipate slippery travel and use extra caution this morning."
