Democrat Evan McKalip will join current Spencer Town Board members Mike Spinks and Jon Stantz, also Democrats, when 2024 begins.

Spinks and Stantz were re-elected at the polls Tuesday, and McKalip will replace current member Dean Bruce, who didn't seek re-election to continue representing the town's 2,400 residents.

McKalip got 235 votes, Spinks got 223 and Stantz got 217.

Two Republicans seeking a spot on the board, Donna Greene and Ryann Reagan, were not among the top-three vote getters. Greene got 78 votes and Reagan got 80.

Incumbent clerk-treasurer Cheryl Moke, a Democrat, was unopposed in that race and retains her job for the next four years. She received 226 votes.

What about Gosport?

In the town of Gosport, which has about 850 residents, five candidates sought three at-large town board seats. Winners in Tuesday's election were incumbent Michael Miller, a Republican, and political newcomers Mollie McGee and Ernie Arnold, who are Democrats.

Republicans Harold Hill and Billy Welch were on the ballot as well, coming in fourth and fifth.
