Spencer Rattler leaving Oklahoma, will enter transfer portal

Just one day after the news that head coach Lincoln Riley would be leaving Oklahoma, his former starting quarterback is doing the same.

Spencer Rattler is entering the transfer portal, making his announcement via social media Monday.

After getting preseason hype as the top quarterback prospect in the 2022 NFL draft class and a potential contender for the No. 1 overall pick, Rattler struggled in the early going of the 2021 season, and was eventually benched in favor of freshman Caleb Williams.

Even if Riley hadn’t left Norman, it still wouldn’t have been surprising to see Rattler transfer, as he looks to resurrect his draft stock with another program.
