Those seeking a magical winter getaway in SoCal should look no further than SkyStream Resort, nestled in the mountains and open year-round. Under two hours from Los Angeles, off the dreamy Rim of the World Highway near Lake Arrowhead, the property offers visitors a memorable camping experience in a series of vintage Airstream trailers.

This collection of Airstreams has been specially procured and tastefully restored into glamping-style accommodations with cozy creature comforts such as heat, air-conditioning, a personal outdoor gas fire pit, a solid Wi-Fi connection, and a special Mini Bus that’s been converted to a Camp Kitchen for the exclusive use of guests.

The Airstreams are part of the larger SkyPark Camp + RV Resort, which boasts plenty of outdoor activities in addition to multiple fire pits, clean bathrooms with camp showers, RV hookups, and a location directly across the street from the legendary Skypark at Santa’s Village.

Plus, it’s not far from Snow Valley Mountain Resort, making it a great place for skiers and snowboarders seeking a less crowded mountain that's also within driving distance of Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego.

Owners Bill and Michelle Johnson grew up together in Lake Arrowhead, graduated from the same high school in town, and have been operating Skypark at Santa’s Village for nearly a decade, with the goal of adding new amenities to the property each year. The final piece of their master plan was opening the SkyStream Resort, which officially gives visitors a spot to spend the night while they’re in town and enjoying the destination.

Guests can choose between six welcoming Airstreams, each of which is more than 50 years old and has been individually decorated to showcase its own distinct personality and backstory. With a private outdoor gas fire pit, two Adirondack chairs, and a picnic table, it's the perfect place to soak in the panoramic views of the valley below and star-studded skies above.

Inside, each Airstream is stocked with homey amenities like a DreamCloud mattress, Keurig bar marker, and mini fridge with bottled water. There are also bath linens and sundries for use at the showers in the Camp Bath House.

As an added bonus, each stay comes with breakfast at Kringle's Coffee & Gifts in SkyPark at Santa’s Village. Visitors get two large coffees and their choice of a breakfast sandwich or pastry.

And those who would like to stay longer and have a full experience at SkyPark at Santa’s Village, day passes are available for purchase, so you can enjoy the magic of Christmas any time of year.

Overall, SkyStream Resort feels far from the chaos of urban life while still being under two hours from Los Angeles. Each guest will sleep comfortably in a warm bed on a mountaintop in unique accommodations that are close enough to the city for a quick escape in nature.
