Have a splash! Parks & Recs to host annual Pooch Plunge

LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The Lafayette Parks & Recreation Department announced that it will be hosting its annual Pooch Plunge event Thursday and Friday.

The event will be held each day at Castaway Bay, located in Armstrong Park in Lafayette, from 5 to 8 p.m. at a cost of $10 for the first dog and $5 for an additional dog.

There is a limit of two dogs per person, with a limit of two people per registration.

Registration is available online or at the gate. Anyone wishing to register online can visit lafayetteparks.org.

All dogs must have a rabies vaccination on file in order to attend Pooch Plunge. Attendees may email a copy to dogpark@lafayette.in.gov or bring a copy of their vaccination certification with them; a collar tag will not be sufficient.

The event will feature giveaways, local vendors such as Famous Frank’s, pup-cups, and information about Greater Lafayette’s brand new McPaw Dog Park, which is slated to open later this year.

In addition to the dog swim, attendees can sign up for dog park memberships and enjoy a variety of free promotional items.
