SPLASHING GOOD TIME: Bartlesville club makes major medal haul at home outdoor meet

More than 300 pool warriors — representing 11 teams from throughout the state and region — invaded Sooner Pool for the annual Splash Club Stars of Summer Meet.
The Splash Club more than successfully sparkled in its home water.
The Bartlesville-based entity captured 46 individual championships during the tidal wave of action on the first weekend in June.
Griffin Craig (boys, 15-and-older) surged to the top spot in five events to lead the boys’ first-place grabs.
Splash Clubbers that cruised to supremacy in four events each included Aidan Howze (girls, 15-and-older) and Aysen Offutt (boys, 11-12).
The number of Splash Club battlers who posted at least one individual victory was 14.
“We had wonderful days of competition Friday and Saturday before we got rained out on Sunday,” Splash Club head coach Chad Englehart said.
The total list of Splash Club first-place finishers were published a few days ago.
The Splash Club also excelled in second and third-place finishes.
Splash Club warriors captured a total of 66 second and third place showings — 37 as runner-ups and 29 as third-place finishers.
Combined with the gold medal total, the Splash Club confiscated a total of 112 first through third place medals.
Anna Young (girls, 13-14) burst to seven second-place medals while Evan Howze (boys, 11-12) seized four second-place honors.
Sophia Williams (girls, 11-12) and Cody Lay (boys, 15-and-older) each boasted three runner-up efforts.
Taking third place in two individual events were: Travis Lief (boys, 13-14), Emma Howze (girls, 15-and-older), Annabelle Droege (girls 15-and-older) and Luke Olsen (boys, 15-and-older)
