Splish-splash, having a blast at Saturday's Boo at the Zoo

The threat of rain wasn't scary enough to keep Halloween fans from Saturday's Boo at the Zoo. Costumed families paraded through the Abilene Zoo, enjoying animal encounters, the annual hay bale maze, and the Spooky Strings marionette show which was new this year.

Held over three weekends in October, Sunday was the last day to visit. Vendors passed out treats and kids also gathered for Pumpkin Chunkin', where they launched gourds into Tittle Lake using the zoo's homemade trebuchet.

Zoo hours are 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
