Spooky events lined up to celebrate Halloween

Oct. 6—OGDENSBURG — October is here and that means spooky activities for the young and old alike as Halloween approaches.

SATURDAY

A Kids Pumpkin Patch Party will be held from noon to 3 p.m. at the St. Lawrence Power and Equipment Museum, 1755 Route 345, Madrid, rain or shine. There will be wagon rides, games, kiddie corn maze and exploration of the buildings. Pumpkin painting will cost $3. Food will be available for purchase.

The Morristown Public Library will be hosting a Halloween program from 10 a.m. to noon for children of all ages. Parental supervision is required for younger children. There will be a story or two read, a haunted graham cracker house craft and snacks provided during the program.

Waddington's 4th annual Pumpkinfest will be held from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. There will be hay rides, a chili cookoff, scarecrow making, a craft sale, a pumpkin canon, lawn games, a community parade and more at Island View Park.

FRIDAY, OCT. 20

The Remington Haunting: A Family Event will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Frederic Remington Art Museum. Continuing on Sunday, Oct. 21, ghosts and apparitions will take over the museum for two nights of scary adventure and fun. Admission is $5 per person, all ages.

SATURDAY, OCT. 21

There will be treats, sweets and spooky streets at a Trunk or Treat from 5 to 7 p.m. at the corner of State and Washington streets sponsored by the Seaway Valley Prevention Council and the Community Health Center of the North Country. SUNDAY, OCT. 22

The 2nd annual Ogdensburg Area Zonta Club Little Witches Ball will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Freight House Restaurant. The youth event is for elementary school-aged children. Witch costumes are encouraged.

The Heuvelton Amvets Ladies Auxiliary Post 1997 will be holding a Trunk or Treat from 2 to 4 p.m. All are welcome. Call Donna at (315) 528-2263 if you are interested in setting up.

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 25

The Ogdensburg Public Library will be holding its 10th annual Halloween Party at 5 p.m. Children will be able to trick-or-treat in the library, play games, show off their costumes and do crafts.

FRIDAY, OCT. 27

A Trunk or Treat hosted by the Lisbon Teacher's Association and non-instructional staff will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at Lisbon Central School. If you are interested in joining in on the Trunk or Treat contact Molly Finnegan at finne105@gmail.com to register.

SATURDAY, OCT. 28

A Kids Pumpkin Party will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Brier Hill Fire Hall, 2678 Route 37. There will be costume judging, pumpkin carving, face painting as well as raffles. Lunch will be provided — hot dogs, chips, a drink and cotton candy. Donations are accepted but not required.
