The wacky and spooky sides of this haunting season will be on view when Cape Cod Theatre Company/Harwich Junior Theatre on Friday opens its production of “The Addams Family Musical,” featuring that strange and kooky family best known from the 1960s TV show and subsequent movies.

In what producers at CCTC/HJT describe as “a comical feast that embraces the wackiness in every family,” this musical focuses on a dilemma for young Wednesday Addams, who has grown up in a ghoulish American family with an affinity for all things macabre (first created in cartoons by Charles Addams). Wednesday has fallen in love with a man from a normal and respectable family. What happens when the two families get together for dinner?

Starring in "The Addams Family Musical" at Cape Cod Theatre Company/Harwich Junior Theatre are, from left, Maryana Crawley as Wednesday, Brittany Rolfs as Morticia, Anthony Teixeira as Gomez and Kelly Martin as Pugsley.
