Spooky places, sweet spots for Halloween found in Fort Smith

There will be candy on Garrison Avenue.

Fort Smith's trick or treating night is Monday, Oct. 31 along Garrison.

At The Party Place - Fort Smith, 1415 A, U.S. 71 South, masks have been selling well this year, said Lauren Sanford, the store's co-borrower.

Michael Myers masks are popular, such as the Pennywise and Iron Maiden masks. For costumes, Pokemon, Pikachu, Minions from "Despicable Me," are popular this year. "Hocus Pocus" is another popular themed costume. Overall business has been down compared to last year.

"I'm sure the economy is a factor," Sanford said.

She said her store is now in the old HobbyTown / Movietown building, a recent change of location from last year.

Balloons are selling well. Trunk or treat events, parties, black, orange or other balloon colors are in demand.

Events are planned Sunday, Oct. 30 before the big day Halloween Monday, Oct. 31

The 5th Sunday Halloween Event, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, Sharp Gaming, 923 Louisville Street.

Trunk Or Treat Grace Community Church, 4001 Brooken Hill Drive, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

Candy Palooza, 12 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, First Church of the Nazarene, 4813 N. O Street, Fort Smith.

Fall-O-Ween JESUS Event, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Midland Heights United Methodist Church, 3500 N 6th Street, Fort Smith.

Halloween events on Monday, Oct. 31 in Fort Smith

Trick or Treat at Your Library, Fort Smith Public Library, 3201 Rogers Ave. 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the main library and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at branch libraries.

Cars And Candy Trunk Or Treat, 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, Central Mall, 5111 Rogers Ave.

Monday Halloween Trivia, 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, The Bakery District, 70 S 7th Street.

The Garrison Avenue 2022 Downtown Trick-or-Treating, 5 p.m. Monday, Garrison Avenue Fort Smith Entertainment District.
