Do you have a closet full of old sports equipment the kids no longer want or are you looking for some used exercise equipment?

Play it Again Sports, a used sporting goods store that buys and sells used equipment, will host its grand opening in Fort Collins on June 8.

Owned by Cory and Marcy Nicholas, the franchise store at 3600 Mitchell Drive, Suite 90, includes fitness and sports gear such as football equipment; baseball gloves and bats; hockey and soccer gear; golf clubs; treadmills; ellipticals; bikes; benches and weights; and more.

Play It Again Sports is part of Winmark-the Resale Company, which owns Plato’s Closet and Once Upon A Child, which have stores off South College Avenue.

The store is planning giveaways, food and coupons during its grand opening weekend June 8-11.

The first 25 people in line on June 8 will get a $25 gift card. All customers will receive a Play It Again water bottle with a purchase.

“I’m thrilled to open my business in such a warm, welcoming, sports-oriented community like Fort Collins,” Cory Nicholas said in a press release. "We’re excited to open for the families in Fort Collins so that we can support their children’s activities and save the parents both time and money.”

No appointment is necessary to sell sports and fitness equipment. Play it Again Sports has more than 270 franchised stores in the U.S. and Canada.

The store will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Fridays; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays; and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays.
