May 15—Vikes take 2

MONTGOMERY — The Barr-Reeve Vikings' baseball team took a pair of baseball wins recently and have now won 18 straight.

On Saturday, B-R posted a 14-4 win over WRV and pounded out 10 hits including three RBIs from Levi Lester and Kendall Graber. Ethan Stoll and Colton Stoll had two hits each.

The Vikes also beat Wood Memorial, 17-1 in five innings.

Braydon Knepp picked up the win, giving up just three hits and one run.

Tyler Graber led the offense with a home run, three hits and six RBIs, Seth Wagler and Ethan Graber had two RBIs each, while B-R had 16 hits.

Loogootee wins 2

LOOGOOTEE — Loogootee moved to 12-7 with a pair of 3-2 wins over Edgewood and Lincoln on Friday.

Against Edgewood, WHS wins came from Kieragen Napier, Caitlin Carrico and Ana Toy, all singles players.

Edgewood won the JV match, 4-3.

Against Lincoln wins came from Carrico and Toy and the doubles team of Addy Lengacher/Macy Knepp. The Lions dropped the JV match, 3-2.

"It was great to finish the season on a winning note. After losing two close 3-2 matches last Saturday, It was good that we stepped it up in these last two matches to get 3-2 wins," said coach Mike Tippery.

Vikes fall short

EVANSVILLE — The Barr-Reeve tennis team dropped a pair of matches in Evansville,

The Vikes lost to North 3-2, with wins coming from the doubles team of Dylan DeCoursey and Sydney Swartzentruber, 6-1 and 6-3, and Alli Robinson and Claire Harrison, 6-3 and 6-1.

The Vikes also fell to Mater Dei, 3-2 with wins from Beth Graber, 2 and 2 and Brynlee Rollins.

Lady Hatchets lose to Princeton

PRINCETON — The Washington Hatchet softball team lost to Princeton, 10-0 on Saturday.

WHS was limited to just three hits, two from Katie Reed and one from Elly Shartzer.

Allison Hill gave up one run and took the loss. Reed also pitched.

WC beats ND

On Thursday, WC beat North Daviess 202 to 226 in golf.

The Co-Medalist from WC were Eli Mullen and Will Bassler.
