Nov. 14—WJHS 7th play at OV

SPENCER — The WJHS seventh grade boys basketball team opened up their season Saturday at Owen Valley for the Patriot Invitational.

In game one the Hatchets picked up the win over John Wooden (Martinsville) 33-27 in overtime. Carter Browning and Darian Turner lead the way with 11 each. Jackson Howell had 8 and Kayden Gross 3

In game two the Hatchets fell to North Daviess, 44-48. Darian Turner led the Hatchets with 16. Other scorers were Carter Browning 10, Kayden Gross 8, Jackson Howell 5, Zachary Frady 3 and Jake Johnson 2.

In game 3, Hatchets picked up win No. 2 over Owen Valley 38-33. Carter Browning had 14 points to led the Hatchets followed by Kayden Gross 10, Jackson Howell 6, Darian Turner 4 and Jake Johnson 4. The seventh grade Hatchets travel to Heritage Hills on Monday night while the eighth grade boys open their season at home against Heritage Hills at 6:30 p. in the Junior High Gym.

Lady Vikes lose to Wood

The Barr-Reeve eight grade girls had their first game this Thursday, and came up short to Wood Memorial 37-44. In the loss

Paighton Parsons led BR with 18 points. Cadence Burch had 11 pts and 8 rebounds. Lilly Lottes finished out the scoring with 8 points.

The Lady Vikings will be back in action next week hosting Paoli on Monday and Vincennes Rivet on Tuesday.
