Red Sox World Series trophies on display October 15

NEWBURYPORT, Mass. - The Boston Red Sox World Series trophies from the 2013 and 2018 seasons will be on display at the Masonic Temple on Saturday, October 15 from 11 to 1 p.m.

This is a free event which will also have a large display of Red Sox memorabilia. The temple is located at 31 Green Street. Doors open at 8 a.m.

Men’s hockey: Leavitt picks up where it left off

ROCHESTER – Defending champion Leavitt Electric picked up where it left off from last year by winning its 2022-23 opener in the Rochester Men’s Hockey League on Monday night. Leavitt pulled away from Homecare of New England, 7-3.

In other games, DeNiro Development stopped RSA Realty, 6-2, while Zoeller Realty Group handled Franman Transportation, 8-2.

Josh Terry led Leavitt with a hat trick, while Zach Leavitt added a goal and three assists and Ed Conroy had a goal and two helpers. CJ Jerry and Rick Kramer also scored. Tyler Briand made 31 saves in goal.

For Homecare, Kyle Carignan scored twice and Kory Ferullo added one. Zane Angelopoulos stopped 31 shots in net.

DeNiro pulled away from RSA with three third-period goals, led by Chris Atwood with two goals and three assists and Doug Larson with two goals and two assists. Josh Anderson added a goal and two helpers while Dan Houston had a goal and an assist. Mike Sullivan stopped 30 shots.

Ryan Montecalvo and Peter Keilty scored for RSA. Brayden McGarry made 41 saves.

Zoeller jumped out to a 7-0 lead after two periods to cruise to its win over Franman. Mark Zoeller (2-2), Doug Colwell (2-2) and Jordan Plante (2-1) led the way for Zoeller. Jeff Berlin added a goal and two assists, while Jay LeDuc had a goal and a helper. Lennie Foss made 17 saves in net.

Geofff Negm (assist) and Jeff McCutcheon scored for Franman. McGarry continued his busy night with 30 saves in goal.
