Your Sports: Northwestern student takes fifth at Marine Corps national wrestling

Jul. 27—Ian Smith, 16, of Lake Nebagamon, represented Wisconsin in the 2021 U.S. Marine Corps Cadet National Greco-Roman Wrestling tournament in Fargo, North Dakota, on July 21-22, 2021. With more than 900 wrestlers representing 49 states and Puerto Rico, Smith took an impressive fifth place in the 182-pound division, earning him All American status. Team Wisconsin finished in third place overall. Smith will be a sophomore at Northwestern High School and is a member of Crass Trained Weigh In Club in Altoona, Wisconsin.
