Sports Round-Up: Lebanon wins Frankfort Wrestling Invite

Dec. 12—The Lebanon wrestling team had a perfect day at the Frankfort Duals on Saturday.

The Tigers went 5-0 on the day to take home the invite championship.

Lebanon topped Frankfort 61-15, Sheridan 57-14, Delphi 59-18, Shelbyville 65-15 and Kokomo 37-36.

Lebanon had three wrestlers go undefeated on the day, with Braxton Echeverria going 5-0 at 106 with five pins, Ethan Coffman going 5-0 at 126 with three pins and Zach Tranum going 5-0 with two pins at 145.

Niko Trepcos (120), Woldy Geslin (132), Jeremy Mullins (138), Vincent Laney (152), Thomas Thompson (160) and Nabih Soumah (285) all went 4-1 on the day.

Bruce Hauben, Isaac Thompson and Garren Stoke both went 3-2 at 113, 182 and 195 respectively.

Tigershark boys win Husky Invite

The Lebanon boys swimming and diving team defended their championship at the Hamilton Heights Husky Invite on Saturday.

The boys won with 262 points, besting Guerin Catholic by 20.

Grayson Goff won the 100-free for the Tigers, and placed second in the 50-free. Lebanon also got runner-up performances from the 200-free relay team of Goff, Rylan Rule, John Gascho and Camden Perrine, and Rule in the breaststroke.

The medley relay team of John Gascho, Parker Lawson, Rylan Rule and Tate DeLaRosa placed third, Corbin Daisley placed third and DeLaRosa sixth in the 200-free, Lawson was sixth in the IM and fifth in the breaststroke Perrine was fourth in the 50-free and third in the 100-free, Davohn Ziesmer was third and Kaden Burress fourth in diving, Rule was third and Adam Creek seventh in the butterfly, DeLaRosa was fourth and Daisley seventh in the 500, Gascho was fourth and Taylor O'Brien fifth in the backstroke and the 400-free relay team of Goff, Perrine, Lawson and DeLaRosa placed third.

The girls team placed fourth with 199 points. Tipton won with 296.

Cora Dial had the best finish for the girls, placing second in the 50-free.

The medley relay team of Dial, Anna Hale, Anna Howard and Paige Howard placed fourth, Bea Johnson was sixth and Martita Sheets eighth in the 200-free, Kylee Rodriguez was seventh and Anna Howard eighth in the IM, Paige Howard was eighth in the 50, Emma Waskom was sixth in diving, Hale was third in the butterfly, Paige Howard was sixth and Karlee Avila was seventh in the 100-free, Sheets was eighth in the 500, the 200-free relay team of Dial, Paige Howard, Avila and Hale placed third, Dial was fourth and Jessie Stevens seventh in the backstroke, Hale was third and Rodriguez sixth in the breaststroke and the 400-free relay team of Anna Howard, Johnson, Avila and Sheets placed fifth.

The Tigersharks are next in action on Thursday at home against Frankfort.

WeBo Wrestling

The Western Boone wrestling team went to the Columbus North Invitational on Saturday and placed fifth, going 3-2 on the day.

The Stars topped Brown County 78-0, Guerin Catholic 54-24 and Madison 51-24. WeBo lost to Bloomington North 48-36 and Harrison (Ohio) 59-24.

Trevor Weakley and Kameron Mikesell both went unbeaten on the day.

Ethan Williams finished the day 4-1, as did Josh Dickey. Isaac Moore, Mason Adams and Evan Trent all got three wins.

WeBo Basketball

The Western Boone basketball team lost to Clinton Prairie 59-50.

Kaden Bennington led the Stars with 18. Luke Barta had 15 and Marcus Stepp had 10.

Lebanon Boys Basketball

The Lebanon boys basketball team lost to Kokomo 63-39 on Saturday night.

The Tigers battled in the first half, trailing 28-22 before Kokomo pulled away in the second half.

Kaden Lark led the Tigers with 16 points. Landon Fouts added nine and four rebounds.
