Sports scores, highlights: Albin nets four goals for Somerset, Case golf wins first match

The fall sports season is underway in the Fall River area.

Boys soccer: Atlantis Charter vs. Tri-County

SCORE: Atlantis Charter 3, Tri-County 0

LOCATION: Atlantis Charter

RECORD: Atlantis Charter, 4-0

HIGHLIGHTS: The unbeaten Tritons blanked Tri County at home. Shawn Kalunga, Ryan Ferreira, and Luis DaSilva each scored goals for Atlantis Charter. André Coelho-Filho collected a pair of assists. "Another great overall team win, but we know we have our work cut out for us as we face Bishop Connolly on Thursday and Westport on Saturday," Tritons head coach Nathan Mello said. "Our goal is to enjoy the win but remain focused on moving forward with our season.

Boys soccer: Diman at Bristol-Plymouth

SCORE: Diman 6, Bristol-Plymouth 2

LOCATION: Bristol-Plymouth

DATE: Sept. 20

RECORD: Diman, 2-2 (1-0 in Mayflower Large)

HIGHLIGHTS: The Bengals won a road game against league opponent Bristol-Plymouth. Andrew Gesner and Sean Cordeiro each scored two goals for Diman.  Aiden Coleman and Carlos dos Santos each netted a goal in the win. Nehven Jose, Carlos Dos Santos, Tyler Carvalho, Cordeiro, and Aiden Furtado each chipped in with assists. Landon Cordeiro had six saves in goal. "We started slow, but as the game went on we got the results we wanted," Bengals head coach Emanuel Botelho said. Diman hosts Seekonk on Friday.

Boys soccer: Bishop Connolly at Westport

SCORE: Westport 8, Connolly 0

LOCATION: Westport

DATE: Sept. 20

RECORD: Westport, 4-0 (1-0 in Mayflower Comprehensive), Bishop Connolly, 1-1-1.

HIGHLIGHTS: Despite missing some front-line players, the Wildcats blanked Bishop Connolly at home. Hunter Brodeur had a monster game with six goals for Westport. Antonio Dutra Africano had a goal and two assists while Will Quinlan added a goal. Coltrane McGonigle had a pair of assists. Ben Boudria and Nick Stanton each chipped in with an assist. "The team received a tremendous boost from key reserves Nick Stanton, Quinlan, Landen Novo, and Matt Costa," Wildcats head coach Chris Parker said. Westport hosts Avon on Thursday and the Cougars are at Atlantis Charter Thursday.

Girls soccer: Durfee vs. Dartmouth

SCORE: Dartmouth 1, Durfee 0

RECORD: Durfee 3-3 (0-2 in Southeast Conference)

HIGHLIGHTS: The Hilltoppers lost a hard fought game against league opponent Dartmouth at home. "The player of the game was the entire team," Durfee head coach Amie Lauren Roach said. "This is one of the best games I have seen this team play ever. Very proud of how the team pulled together and worked really hard. Leaving everything they had on the field tonight." The Hilltoppers host New Bedford on Thursday.

Field Hockey: Somerset Berkley at Fairhaven

SCORE: Somerset Berkley 9, Fairhaven 0

LOCATION: Fairhaven

DATE: Sept. 20

RECORD: Somerset Berkley, 3-0-1 (3-0 in South Coast Conference)

HIGHLIGHTS: The Raiders remain unbeaten on the season after blanking league opponent Fairhaven. Junior Karissa Albin netted four goals and had an assist for SBR. Addie Finlaw recorded a hat trick while Ella Vaught netted a pair of goals. Ava Pontes and Abbie O'Brien each collected a pair of assists. Logan Diffley and Resse Swanson each finished with an assist. Jordan Theriault picked up the shutout in net. The Raiders travel to Old Rochester on Friday.

Golf: Durfee vs. New Bedford

SCORE: Durfee 102, New Bedford 35

LOCATION: Fall River Country Club

DATE: Sept. 20

RECORD: Durfee, 3-1 (2-1 in Southeast Conference)

HIGHLIGHTS: The Hilltoppers cruised to victory at home over league opponent New Bedford. Ethan Tho shot a low score of 39 for Durfee. Michael Banalewicz finished with a 45. The Hilltoppers travel to Bridgewater-Raynham for a 3 p.m. matchup on Thursday.

Golf: Joseph Case vs. Seekonk

SCORE: Joseph Case 301, Seekonk 324

LOCATION: Touisset Country Club in Swansea

DATE: Sept. 20

RECORD: Joseph Case, 1-5 (1-4 in South Coast Conference)

HIGHLIGHTS: The Cardinals golf team won their first match of the season against league opponent Seekonk. Junior Ryan Farrell was the top medalist in the match for Case, shooting a 42. Sophomore Everett Rego shot a 43 while junior Connor Lloyd and freshman Alex Rego each shot a 51.Senior Jaden Dias finished with a 54. The Cardinals travel to Dartmouth on Wednesday.

Golf: Diman vs. Bristol-Plymouth

LOCATION: Swansea Country Club

HIGHLIGHTS: The Bengals defeated league opponent Bristol-Plymouth at home. Bob Leach shot a 44 to lead the way for Diman. Senior Kyle Stang and Freshmen Wyatt Messier and Jack Cestodio all won their matches. The Bengals take on Durfee on Friday.
