The winter high school season is nearing the end for Fall River area teams.

Boys basketball: Atlantis Charter vs. South Shore Christian Academy

HIGHLIGHTS: The Tritons clinched a berth in the state tournament after running away with their contest against South Shore Christian Academy at home. Miquel Pimental led a balance scoring attack for Atlantis with a game-high 17 points. Karter Perreira added 12 points and Angel Martinez ended with 11 points. Seniors Kam Silva, Raul Pimental, and Amare Dunagan also played well in the win.

NEXT UP: The Tritons await the tournament seeding.

Girls basketball: Diman at Nantucket

SCORE: Diman 44, Nantucket 18

LOCATION: Nantucket

DATE: Feb. 16

RECORD: Diman, 14-5

HIGHLIGHTS: The Bengals traveled to the islands and came away with a big road win against Nantucket. Avery Rounds led Diman with a game-high 18 points. Lizzy Kinnane chipped in with nine points and Jayda Martino added eight points. Cindy Bui finished with six points in the win.

NEXT UP: The Bengals travel to Greater New Bedford for their regular season finale.

HIGHLIGHTS: The Cardinals track and field athletes fared well during the Division V state championship. Hannah Santos was the highest placement for Case in the high jump (5'0") with a fifth-place finish. Ashley Byrnes finished in 14th place in the mile with a personal-best time of 5.50.09. Jacob Janicki took 16th place in the shot put (40'06.50") and Brooke Perron ended in 18th place in the shot put (27'09").
