The winter high school season is midway through the season for Fall River area teams.

Boys Ice hockey: Somerset Berkley at Mansfield

HIGHLIGHTS: The Raiders collected their second straight shutout, beating Mansfield on the road. Davis Sullivan, Luke Gauvin and Mason Sullivan each scored goals for SBR. Noah Taylor finished with an assist. Goalie Brandon Silva stopped 21 shots for the shutout in net.

NEXT UP: The Raiders takes on Old Rochester on Wednesday.

HIGHLIGHTS: The Bengals ran their winning streak to 14 games after beating Apponequet at home. Brady Sullivan had a pair of goals for Diman/Durfee/Westport. Other goal scorers were Jacob Almeida and Landen Freitas (assist). Jared Martin had two assists and Bryce Medeiros finished with two assists, including his 100th career high school point. Aidan Farias and Ryan Sandford each has an assist in the win. Goalie Cam Mattos stopped 22 of 23 shots on net.

NEXT UP: The Bengals travel to Dartmouth on Monday.

Girls Indoor track: Durfee at MSTCA Qualifier meet

HIGHLIGHTS: Hilltoppers' Shakira Cadet breaks her own school record on Saturday, finishing first in the 300 meter dash (41.50). She also placed fourth in the 55 meter dash. Freshman Thysh Garcia-Martinez had a personal-best time in the 55 meter dash (8.14) while classmate Aaliyah Alexandre had a personal-best time in the 300 meter dash (47.88).

HIGHLIGHTS: Bengals' Inez Medeiros finished third overall in the 55 (7.49), extending her school record and qualifying for the New Balance Rising Stars Nationals event. She also finished ninth in the 300 (44.28). Grace Flattery took second overall in high jump (5'0) and qualified for the New Balance Rising Stars Nationals event. Kaitlyn Nickelson, who did not compete today, has also qualified in the high jump. Emma Foley finished 15th in the 55 hurdles (9.82). Also running well for the girls were Alexah Pedder (1:57) and Eden McCausland (1:58) in the 600 and Isabelle Chekares (51.15) in the 300. Running well for the boys were Nathan Nascimento in the 55 (7.02) and the 300 (39.97). Ethan Cabral 600 (1:31), and Kyle Stang in the 1000 (3:04). each ran well

HIGHLIGHTS: The undefeated Cardinals girls track team had a number of outstanding performances on Saturday, finishing third overall at the meet behind Old Rochester and Apponequet. Junior Hannah Santos cleared 5" in the high jump to become champion for the second year in a row. She also shattered her previous-best time in the hurdles with a third place showing. Freshman Emma Bouchard posted personal records, taking third in the 55 (7.91) and second in the 300 (46.3). Ashlyn Byrnes ran both the mile and the two mile, finishing with her fastest time of the season in both events (third and fourth place). Hannah Storm ran her best time of the season in the 1000 (3:35) which was good enough for fourth place. Olivia Silva took fifth in the shot put while Brooke Perron broke the 30" mark in the shot put to earn a place in the D5 State Meet. Jacob Janicki led the boys team, finishing fifth with a throw of 40'2". The girls team was also awarded a plaque for being this season's Gold Division champions.

HIGHLIGHTS: There were many great performances for the Raiders as the boys' team placing third overall for the conference! Individual placements for SBR athletes were Dan Gobeil (fifth, 40.38) and Camden Rose (sixth, 40.40) in the 300. Andrew Heroux (third, 1:33.55) and Tyler Scanlon (fourth, 1:34.60) in the 600. Ryan Kulibaba (1000, 3:01.89). Chandler Doehler (45'5", third), Joseph Ramos (43'4", fourth) and Hutch Mosley (41'10.75", fifth) in the boys shot put. Cali Leger (second, 34'10") in girls shot put. The girls 4x400 relay team of Ella Vaught, Julia Costa, Breannah McKeon and Ashley O'Donovan took fourth (4.55.4). The boys 4x400 relay team of Rose, Heroux, Nicolas and Tyler Scanlon placed fourth overall.

Wrestling: Somerset Berkley/Case at Division II South sectionals

HIGHLIGHTS: The Raider wrestlers fared well at Saturday's Division II South Sectional tournament. Placement winners for SBR were James Phenix (third, 152 pounds), Anthony Celio (fifth, 132 pounds), Charlie Medas (fifth, 220 pounds) and Alex Javier (sixth, 120 pounds).
