Sports scores, highlights: Diman co-op hockey wins 13th straight game against Southeastern

The winter high school season is midway through the season for Fall River area teams.

HIGHLIGHTS: The Bengals co-op hockey team won their 13th straight game, beating Southeastern co-op team on the road. Brady Sullivan led Diman/Durfee/Westport with a pair of goals. Other goal scorers include Landen Freitas, Owen Vernon, Jacob Almeida, and Bryce Medeiros. Jared Martins, Evan Camara, Landen Freitas, and Bryce Medeiros each collected assists in the win. Cam Mattos stopped 24 out of 25 shots in net. "The team came out strong, scoring on the first to shifts of the game and never looked back," Bengals head coach Marc O'Connor said. "Great team win."

HIGHLIGHTS: The Raiders got back into the win column after blanking Apponequet at home. Kein Stafford led SBR with a hat trick and two assists. Davis Sullivan chipped in with a pair of goals and three assists. Luke Gauvin and Aaron Preston each scored a goal in the win. Brandon Silva made 18 saves for the shutout.

NEXT UP: The Raiders faces Mansfield on Saturday in Foxboro.

Girls basketball: Diman vs. Southeastern

SCORE: Diman 42, Southeastern 34

RECORD: Diman, 12-3 (7-1 in Mayflower Large)

HIGHLIGHTS: The Bengals clinched a share of the Mayflower Athletic Conference Large title for the second straight season after beating league opponent Southeastern at home on Senior Night. Avery Rounds led Diman with a team-high 16 points. Hannah Martin and Elizabeth Kinnane each finished with 11 points in the win.

NEXT UP: The Bengals travel to Case on Thursday.

Girls basketball: Bishop Connolly vs. Avon

HIGHLIGHTS: The Cougars snapped a nine-game losing skid with a big home win against Avon on Senior Night. Grace Machado had a big steal and bucket with 15 seconds to give Connolly the lead late. She finished with four points, five rebounds, two assists and three steals. Sam O'Leary had a team-high 12 rebounds, eight block and two points. Bethany Slivka finished with 10 points, six rebounds and a steal in the win. Maggie Pabst finished with five rebounds, four steals, two steals and eight points.

HIGHLIGHTS: The Wildcats lost at home against league opponent West Bridgewater. Korynne Holden led Westport with 14 points, three rebounds and six steals. Leah Sylvain chipped in with nine points, three rebounds, five steals and five assists. Other scorers include Julia George (five), Sarah Perry (four), Meghan Molloy (two) and Jenna Egbe (one).

NEXT UP: The Wildcats travel to Holbrook on Friday.

HIGHLIGHTS: The Cougars won a big road game against league opponent Avon. Jah Stephenson led Connolly with a team-high 25 points. Jayden Souza had his best game of the year, chipping in 20 points and seven rebounds.

HIGHLIGHTS: Hilltopper Rachael Silva scored a 380.15 in the 1-meter dive during the MIAA Swim and Dive South Sectional Championship at Dedham. The Durfee diver finished in eighth place.

NEXT UP: The Hilltopper divers Silva and Madison Ferreira will next compete at the MIAA D1 State Championship on Feb. 18 at MIT.

Wrestling: Durfee at Somerset Berkley/Case
