Sports scores, highlights: Durfee soccer splits with league opponent Bridgewater-Raynham

The fall sports season is heading into the final week before the start of tournament time for Fall River area teams.

HIGHLIGHTS: The Cardinals tied their game with league opponent Seekonk at home. Gaoussou Traore scored the goal by Case on an assist by Christian Liberatore. Case keeper Ethan Pires had six saves in the match.

NEXT UP: The Cardinals travel to Apponequet on Thursday.

Boys soccer: Diman vs. Southeastern

HIGHLIGHTS: The Bengals clinched the Mayflower Athletic Conference championship for the 10th straight season after tying their game with Southeastern at home. Landon Cordeiro was the Player of the Game for Diman, making 10 saves to earn the shutout.

NEXT UP: The Bengals take on Somerset Berkley on Wednesday.

Boys soccer: Durfee at Bridgewater-Raynham

SCORE: Durfee 7, Bridgewater-Raynham 1

LOCATION: Bridgewater-Raynham

DATE: Oct. 25

RECORD: Durfee, 10-2-4 (4-1-3 in Southeaster Conference)

HIGHLIGHTS: The Hilltoppers dominated their game against league opponent Bridgewater-Raynham on the road. Gilberto Correia and Landon Medeiros each netted a pair of goals in the victory for Durfee. Lens Boursiquot, Gabriel Ferreira and Leonardo Alfama also scored in the win. Medeiros, Correia and Evan Carvalho collected assists.

NEXT UP: The Hilltoppers travel to Dighton-Rehoboth on Thursday.

Girls soccer: Durfee vs. Bridgewater-Raynham

HIGHLIGHTS: The Hilltoppers dropped a home against against visiting Bridgewater-Raynham. Emma McDonnell scored the one goal for Durfee on an assist from Destani Alua Rioux.

NEXT UP: The Hilltoppers host Dighton-Rehoboth on Senior Night Thursday.

Field hockey: Westport vs. St. John Paul II

SCORE: St. John Paul II 3, Westport 0

LOCATION: St. John Paul II

DATE: Oct. 25

RECORD: Westport, 6-8-1

HIGHLIGHTS: The Wildcats were blanked by St. John Paul II on the road. "We had many opportunities but couldn’t get one in the net," Westport head coach Jacquelyn Legendre said. "Strong defense in the second half."

NEXT UP: The Wildcats take on Fairhaven on Thursday.

Girls volleyball: Durfee vs. Middleboro

SCORE: Durfee 3, Middleboro 1 (26-28, 25-17, 25-16, 25-10)

LOCATION: Durfee

DATE: Oct. 25

RECORD: Durfee, 7-12

HIGHLIGHTS: The Hilltoppers took three of four sets against non-league opponent Middleboro at home on Senior Night. Alanis Zayas had a season-high six kills for Durfee. Dalia Karam finished the night with 12 digs while Jasmine Caine contributed 11 assists. Lauren Kuchar added three kills and 13 digs. Selena Pereira ended with three kills and Kelly Montanez had three kills and four block.
