TAUNTON— There was plenty of high school sports action on a sunny Wednesday afternoon in the Greater Taunton area.

HIGHLIGHTS: Eighth grader Ashlyn Hebert made her varsity debut in goal, keeping a clean sheet. Cali Melo and Christina DaCosta led the way for the Tigers defensively. "I'm real pleased with the results," Taunton coach Dan Borges said.

HIGHLIGHTS: Set scores were 25-20, 25-17 and 25-20. "Kayla O'Hara and Nina Savino played all around doing a great job playing defense and offense," Trojans coach Maria Serrano said. "Julia Aker had great kills. Jillian Russell and Julia Santos had great assists for the front row players. Overall, it was a great team effort and chemistry amongst the girls."

Boys Soccer: Bristol-Plymouth at Wareham

SCORE: Wareham 1, Bristol-Plymouth 0

HIGHLIGHTS: "Tommy Smith, Sebastian Rito and Ethan Maloney played well on defense," Craftsmen coach Mike Oliveira said. "Overall good game from the rest of the team."

Girls Soccer: Bristol-Plymouth vs. Wareham

HIGHLIGHTS: Juliana Almada led the way with two goals, while Mackenzie O'Leary and Ashleigh Genander also found the back of the net. Genander has now scored in the Craftsmen's last three matches.

HIGHLIGHTS: Danny Keefe finished second overall with a time of 20:45 while Nathan Dextraze came in fourth with a time of 21:20, Nathan Gagne came in fifth with a time of 21:28, Patrick Sullivan came in sixth with a time of 22:03 and Brendon LaBelle finished seventh with a time of 22:04.

HIGHLIGHTS: Nicole Widegren finished first overall with a time of 25:29 while Olivia Sanchez came in third with a time of 30:16, Sarah Hilston came in fourth with a time of 32:38, Elizabeth Parker came in fifth with a time of 32:44 and Nevaeh Alfaia finished sixth with a time of 32:44.
