Sports scores, stats for Wednesday: Balanced Taunton hockey beats Foxboro

TAUNTON— It was another busy midweek day for Greater Taunton area high school sports.

Here's a look at all of the scores, stats and highlights from Wednesday.

Boys Hockey: Taunton at Foxboro

SCORE: Taunton 4, Foxboro 1

LOCATION: Foxboro Sports Center

DATE: Feb. 15

RECORD: 12-8 (3-6 Hockomock League)

HIGHLIGHTS: Breighdyn Simmons led the way for the Tigers with a goal and an assist, while Jamie Valarelli, Owen Hathaway and Dylan McCaughey all found the back of the net as well. Connor McGrath, Colton Scheralis and Travis Cashman each recorded a pair of assists while goalie Cam Tomaszycki made 25 saves in net. The victory marked the 100th career win of coach Kris Metea and his staff.

HIGHLIGHTS: Kaiden Mercer led the way for the Falcon Warriors with a pair of goals while Keegan Fitzpatrick also found the back of the net as DRS eliminated the host Spartans in the first round of the Spartan Cup.

HIGHLIGHTS: Destin Michener was the Falcons' top performer as he finished third in the shot put with a top distance of 46' 0.75" while Joel DaSilva finished 10th in the high jump with a height of 5' 8", the 4x200 meter relay team of Matthew Suprenard, Benjamin Harrison, Michener and Thomas Dyson finished 10th with a time of 1:37.9 and Jackson Pogany finished 19th in the 600 meter with a personal best time of 1:32.11.

Girls Indoor Track: Dighton-Rehoboth at MIAA Division IV Championship

RESULT: 21st Place (5)

LOCATION: Reggie Lewis Center

DATE: Feb. 15

HIGHLIGHTS: Ryann Welzel was the top Falcon finisher as she came in sixth in the shot put with a personal best top distance of 32' 3.25" while Madelyn Kelley came right in behind her at seventh with a top distance of 32' 1.5" and Lindsay Allard set a pair of new personal records by finishing 22nd in the mile with a time of 5:58.53 and 24th in the two mile with a time of 13:40.21.
