Sports scores, stats from the weekend: B-R boys swimming wins SEC Championship

TAUNTON— It was another action-packed weekend for Greater Taunton area high school sports.

Here's a look at all of the scores, stats and highlights from Saturday and Sunday.

Boys Hockey: Taunton vs. Stoughton/Brockton

SCORE: Taunton 4, Stoughton/Brockton 2

LOCATION: Aleixo Arena

DATE: Feb. 4

RECORD: 10-7 (3-5 Hockomock League)

HIGHLIGHTS: Conner Goranson led the way for the Tigers with a goal and two assists while Connor McGrath and Colton Scheralis both had a goal and assist each, Jonathan McGrath had a goal and Brady Gomes, Tre Nadeau and Dylan McCaughey each recorded an assist. Goalie Cam Tomaszycki made 20 saves in net for Taunton, who scored all of their goals in the first period.

Boys Swimming: Taunton at Hockomock League Championship

RESULT: Eighth Place (115)

LOCATION: Milford High School

DATE: Feb. 3

RECORD: 2-3 (2-3 Hockomock)

HIGHLIGHTS: Gerald Grealish led the way for the Tigers with a pair of silver medals, coming in second overall in the 200 yard individual medley with a time of 2:09.91 and the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:04.06. The relay team of Keenan Daley, Grealish, Jared Sardinha and Joshua Florindo finished seventh in the 400 yard freestyle relay with a time of 4:09.03 and eighth in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 2:05.01.

Girls Swimming: Taunton at Hockomock League Championship

RESULT: Sixth Place (163)

LOCATION: Milford High School

DATE: Feb. 4

RECORD: 3-2 (3-2 Hockomock)

HIGHLIGHTS: Abigail Fernandes led the way for the Tigers with a bronze medal, finishing third overall in the 50 yard freestyle while also finishing seventh in the 100 yard freestyle. Tiffany Ye earned a fourth place ribbon in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:05.29 and seventh in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:11.62. The 200 yard freestyle relay team of Fernandes, Mia Dafov, Megan Viveiros and Ye also earned a bronze medal as they finished third with a time of 1:55.

Wrestling: Taunton at Brockton Quad

SCORES: Taunton 71, Xaverian 9; Taunton 50, Brockton 21; Taunton 69, Quincy/North Quincy 9

LOCATION: Brockton High School

DATE: Feb. 4

RECORD: 20-2 (7-1 Hockomock)

HIGHLIGHTS: Johnnie Mainer-Smith (106), Mike Leskoski (113), Ryan Jones (120), Brian Haen (126), Xavier Sandoval (132), Anthony Vieira (138), Ben Mandeville (145), John Mandeville (152), Gabriel Leskoski (160), Will Buffington (170), Ethan Harris (182), Logan Frank (220) and Bobby Tran (285) each won all three of their respective matches for the Tigers.

HIGHLIGHTS: Deshawn Faulk led the way for the Trojans with 15 points.

HIGHLIGHTS: Bobby Quill and Anthony Mussari both found the back of the net for the Trojans.

LOCATION: University of Massachusetts Dartmouth

DATE: Feb. 4

RECORD: 7-0 (3-0 SEC)

HIGHLIGHTS: Cam Hogg led the way for the Trojans with a pair of gold medals after finishing first in both the 200 yard individual medley and 100 yard breaststroke, while Cooper Hammond won the 200 yard freestyle, Jack Werb won the 500 yard freestyle and Dante Kirika won the 100 yard backstroke. The 200 yard medley relay team of Kirika, Werb, Hogg and Cole Bridges also won gold in their event as did the 200 yard freestyle relay team of Werb, Hogg, Hammond and Bridges.

HIGHLIGHTS: Jessie McNeil won gold in both the 200 yard individual medley and 500 yard freestyle while Eva Chaves took silver in both the 100 yard freestyle and 100 yard backstroke. Also earning silver for the Trojans were the 200 yard medley relay team of McNeil, Eily Mitchell, Chaves and Sammy Bean and the 200 yard freestyle relay team of McNeil, Chaves, Bean and Alanna McSweeney.

Gymnastics: Bridgewater-Raynham/West Bridgewater at Oliver Ames

SCORE: Bridgewater-Raynham/West Bridgewater 142.5, Oliver Ames 137.4

LOCATION: Spectrum Gymnastics

DATE: Feb. 4

RECORD: 8-0

HIGHLIGHTS: Katie Russo won the vault (9.25), bars (9.2) and floor (9.2) while Cecilia Meoli won the beam with a score of 9.2 and finished tied for second with Lily Moreira on the floor with a 9.0. Moreira also finished second on the beam with a 9.05 and third on the bars with an 8.9 while Sage Balsamo finished third on the beam with a 9.0.

HIGHLIGHTS: Brent von Magnus (126), Brendan Rosher (145), Charlie Swenson (160), Christian Curley (170), Chris Hogg (182), Nathan Leach (195), Declan Fahy (220) and Cam Davidson (285) each won all three of their respective matches for the Trojans.

HIGHLIGHTS: Cam Wilbur led the way for the Hawks with a pair of goals while Dalton Ghelfi and John Whalen had a goal and an assist each and Colin Wilbur recorded a pair of assists. Goalie Jake Schofield made 14 saves in net for the co-op.
