Sports Speak Up! 'Bones' Jones, dunkin' Donovan Dent have fans

Mar. 2—ABOUT JON JONES, the GOAT of MMA. Ran into him at Coronado Mall. I asked if I could take a photo of him with all my family. He said sure. He even helped me look for my daughter and granddaughters. Took a while. He never acted like I was bothering him or that he didn't have time. He may have some wrongs in his past, but don't we all. Continue Jon, being great for Burque.

JRM-CORRALES stated "This season confirms that UNM fans are a bunch of Know-Nothing-About-Basketball Psychopaths." Well, we watched the men's team start 14-0 and then slip to 7-9 with some buzzer-beating losses along with visiting teams dancing on the Pit floor. The Lobos defeated San Jose State twice, 77-57 and 96-68, yet the Spartans are ahead of UNM in the conference standings. Though we know nothing and it's irrational behavior, many of us will be headed to Las Vegas, hoping that fortune will reverse itself for this snake-bit UNM team at the upcoming MWC Tournament.

DONOVAN DENT'S DUNK: The triple D in the Fresno game was a significant moment for Donovan Dent. It has to have boosted his already strong self-confidence. I hope we'll being seeing three more years of these. What a marvelous player.

JUST READ THE new PGA rules for 2024. What's next? Shorts? Rap music on each tee box? $100 million bonuses for PGA stars? Greg Norman next PGA Commissioner? Sadly, looks to me that LIV has won the battle, especially since LIV golfers can now qualify for three of the four majors. So much for "legacy"!

1.) KEEP THOSE 3-pointers falling UNM women's basketball team as this Top-15 fan-base deserves an NCAA bid. 2.) It's too bad that Rudy Davalos pulled the rug out from under Rusty Mitchell and his 33-year storied UNM gymnastics program. I would guess that Mitchell was the only coach in UNM's history who could balance himself with one arm on the program's building's sign. 3.) As UNM football wraps up spring practice, New Mexico State came to Albuquerque to celebrate last year's football bowl win. Tell us again, Danny Gonzales, what you think of NMSU.
