Sports Speak Up! Long's departure is just the latest of bad things happening to UNM football
Dec. 18—FROM CORRALES to Syracuse? That's a shocker, Rocky. I guess if this long-time Lobo has voluntarily jumped ship, then not sure where that leaves the rest of the Lobo fan base.

LOSING A.J. HALSEY via the transfer portal is a major blow to the Lobo football program. He was the one bright spot during a miserable season, and I wish him luck for the future. He deserves an opportunity to play on a winning team.
— Sad Lobo fan
THE FOOTBALL PLAYERS entering the transfer portal are smarter than UNM Regents and UNM President Stokes. They know when to abandon a doomed and sinking ship!
— Realistic UNM football fan
THE NAME OF the game in college football is recruiting. Until UNM opens its purse strings and hires a coaching staff who can recruit top quality high school players you can continue to expect 2-10 records.

WHEN WILL UNM acknowledge it never has and never will have a powerhouse football program(?) Instead of cutting its soccer program, it should have cut the football program. Bring back soccer and share the stadium with United. Make it a win-win for the community and the university!

OF COURSE Brittany Griner is going back to work. She makes 2.5% of the average 2019 NBA salary. The lowest paid player on the Suns makes more than 3 times what Griner makes. Steph Curry, the highest paid player in the NBA makes 240 times what Griner makes. Misogynistic pay inequity at work.

WITH AREA hospitals overwhelmed by people suffering from 3 different (viruses) and no beds available is it wise to stuff 12,000 or so screaming fans in to the Pit on Sunday without a face mask requirement? I think not.
