Sports you can watch between Memorial Day and Labor Day while waiting for NFL to kickoff

With Memorial Day around the corner and the NBA season about to conclude, which sports can fans watch over the summer?

Despite this time of the year often being described as a dead period for sports there are a multitude of sports to watch till the NFL returns in September.

1. NBA and MLB

The NBA finals begin in June and will end no later than June 18th. The NBA playoffs can be watched on TNT and ESPN.

The MLB season is in full swing and will continue until October. The Texas Rangers have been one of the best teams in baseball to start the season and currently lead the American League West with a record of 29-17.

The Rangers can be watched on Bally Sports Southwest and other MLB teams can be watched on Apple TV, ESPN, MLB Network and Fox Sports.

2. MLS

One of the best soccer leagues in the world, the MLS is 14 matches into its 2023 season so its the perfect time to start watching if fans haven’t watched this season. FC Dallas is off to a great start to the season, currently in fourth place in the Western Conference.

MLS fans can buy a season pass from Apple TV for $13 a month or $79 for the season if they’re Apple TV+ subscribers and for those who aren’t, it’s $15 a month or $99 for the season. Apple TV is now the main provider of MLS content.

Fans can also watch games on Fox Sports which shows a select number of games per season.

3. USFL

For those looking for an NFL substitute with the XFL season over, the USFL is ready to fill in. The USFL started its season on April 15 and the season will not conclude until the championship game on July 1.

All games can be watched on Fox Sports and the USFL does boast multiple former NFL players to watch such as Bo Scarbrough, Kyle Lauletta and Reuben Foster

5. NWSL

The National Womens Soccer League started its season in March and it runs through November.

The NWSL is home to US national team players like Alex Morgan, Sophia Smith and Julie Ertz. The NWSL airs on CBS, CBS Sports Network and Paramount+

The WNBA season just began on May 19 and will end in October. The Women’s National Basketball Association is widely regarded as the best women’s basketball league in the world. For basketball fans lamenting the end of the NBA season the WNBA is right there to welcome them.

The WNBA season pass can be bought from the league website for $25 a year or $2.99 per game. Games also air on ESPN, ESPN3, ION, Amazon Prime, NBA TV, and other regional sports networks like Bally Southwest.

6. World Cup

The 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup is being hosted by New Zealand and Australia in July and will bring together the best women soccer players from around the globe to compete for their home countries.

The U.S. has won the last two World Cups in a row. The World Cup will air on Fox Sports, FS1 and will be available in the Fox Sports app.
