Monroe Family YMCA is offering “The Best Summer Ever” Summer Day Camp this summer.

The program runs through Sept. 2 and offers physically active activities, exploring and learning for children entering kindergarten through Grade 8.

“Day camp offers youth unique experiences with an opportunity to explore the outdoors, meet new friends, discover new interests and create memories that last a lifetime,” according to a press release from the YMCA. “Campers partake in diverse activities to include STEM, artistic expression, literacy and math, physically active games, social-emotional learning, swimming, field trips and more.”

“YMCA summer camp supports the social-emotional growth, cognitive development and physical well-being of kids,” Lizzy Stritt, youth development director at the Y. In our day camp, kids welcomed into an environment where they can belong, build relationships, develop character and discover their potential. I encourage parents to give their kids the gift of camp to keep their kids active and engaged throughout the summer.”

Limited registration is still available.

No child is turned away due to financial hardship. The Monroe Family YMCA offers financial assistance to those in need and accepts DHHS payments. Those interested in financially supporting a child’s summer camp experience can donate at monroefamilyymca.org.
