Spotsylvania Town Centre To Expand Hours Under Reopening Plan

FREDERICSKBURG, VA — Businesses at Spotsylvania Towne Centre will resume additional in-person operations on Friday, as part of Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam's phase one plan to ease restrictions on businesses and gatherings, the mall said Tuesday.

Spotsylvania Towne Centre has remained open with reduced hours since March, although some businesses at the mall temporarily suspended operations. Starting Friday, the mall will adopt new hours of 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. The mall suggests that customers call or check online for the hours of operations of individual stores.

The mall’s cleaning standards will be intensified, especially in high-touch areas. Customers will also notice new signs and physical barriers to encourage safe distancing. Many of the mall’s retailers are now offering Mall To Go curbside pickup at designated mall entrances for customers who call stores in advance to place orders.

Because of the high demand for personal protection equipment, Spotsylvania Towne Centre said it is developing an easy way for local manufacturers and retailers of protective gear to get their products to the public. Local manufacturers and resellers of PPE may qualify for free rent at what the mall is calling its PPE Marketplace. They can contact Gary Geramita at the mall’s leasing office for information at 330-743-7693 or by email at ggeramita@cafarocompany.com.

"We look forward to welcoming our friends, neighbors, merchants and visitors," the mall said. "They can rest assured that extensive measures are in place to make every visit a safe and healthy one."

Spotsylvania Towne Centre is urging all mall businesses and customers to follow the Forward Virginia plan, which provides guidance for protecting the health of employee and customers.

Spotsylvania Towne Centre, located at the junction of Interstate 95 and Route 3, near Fredericksburg, has 1.7 million square feet of space with more than 120 department stores, specialty shops, restaurants, hotels and entertainment venues. The mall is owned and managed as part of the Cafaro family of companies based in Niles, Ohio.
