Chad & JT Recruited To Fix Mask Shortage In Orange County
ORANGE COUNTY, CA — Positive vibes abound in Orange County, and the new message of Orange County Health Care Agency is that masks can be beautiful and help save lives.
The agency enlisted the support of local celebrities who represent different parts of OC culture to help share the important message about staying safe amid the coronavirus pandemic. They employed Huntington Beach muralist Melissa Murphy to design custom masks to get across a more Orange County feel for mask-wearers.
The Spread Positive Vibes campaign depicts life along the coast and local marine life.
Flipping the perspective on masks has been a significant concern for the OC Health Care Agency. Since the coronavirus shut down in March, Huntington Beach has been the epicenter of many protests against wearing masks.
A July Youtube video created by Chad Goes Deep comedians Chad and JT captured a moment in history where people shared their views on masks, coronavirus and the shutdown with the duo. Arriving in Huntington Beach to solve the mask shortage, some people were happy to take masks, others were outright hostile.
"It turns out there's no mask shortage," Chad said in the video. "People just don't want to wear them."
A follow up comedy video in San Clemente captured the "epic feels" and "random conspiracy theories" going on in Orange County at that moment in the coronavirus pandemic over the summer.
This week, Youtubers Chad and JT of Chad Goes Deep Channel handed out the fresh new OC Healthcare Spread Positive Vibes masks near the pier and received a different vibe. They spoke with KFI in a recent interview and discussed how they were brought in to hand out the masks in Huntington Beach.
"OC Healthcare was stoked on our journey and message" and asked if they would help share the positive vibe masks, and the two jumped at the chance.
With the designed OC Health Care designed masks, they saw more love.
