Spring Boats Afloat Show featuring yachts, cruisers, and more happening in South Lake Union

Spring Boats Afloat Show features spacious yachts, luxury fishing models, high-end cruisers, and more. The show is currently happening in South Lake Union until Sunday.

“It is a sparkling display of more than 100 of the Northwest’s largest power and sailing craft, shoreside exhibitors, and a full line-up of activities for the entire family,” said the Northwest Yacht Brokers Association in a news release.

Boats Afloat highlights what organizers call “Boats of Note” which include yachts up to 80 feet long. It also showcases innovative boating technology, marine services, and accessories.

There are also free activities, daily entertainment, and food and beverages. One activity is the Emerald City Pirates, a “pirate ship” cruise ship company that offers free rides aboard the “Queen Anne’s Revenge” from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Another is a kid’s toy boat building with the Center for Wooden Boats from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

There are also free performances by Stanley Alleyne, The Scratch Cats Jazz Band, the outstanding Ballard High School Jazz Quartet, The Wednesday Club, and the Jewel Tones.

For food, the Olympic Star will feature light bites and a full bar with specialty cocktails, as well as the award-winning Five Hooks Seafood Truck, Dog in the Park, and sweet treats from the U Café Coffee Cart, said the release. The show will also have a beer garden, sponsored by Waterways Cruises & Events.

Hours for the Boats Afloat Show are:

  • April 27-28 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

  • April 29 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

  • April 30 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Admission is $22 for adults 18 and over, $5 for teens ages 13-17, and free for children 12 and under. Tickets can also be bought on the show’s website, including a multi-day “All Access Pass” for $35.
