Spring brings fairs, food and live music to Fayetteville: 5 events to check out
With warmer weather comes a handful of fairs, festivals and other events to look forward to.
Residents need not travel far to find live music, local food, carnival rides and children’s activities around Fayetteville this March, April and May.
Spring will bring a Korean church’s spring roll sale; the first-anniversary celebration of a fast-growing food truck face-off; the Dogwood Festival, a tradition for more than 40 years; the Fort Bragg Fair; a potential return of the Tacos and Beer Festival to Westwood Shopping Center; and a macaroni and cheese cook-off.
Take out your calendars; here are five upcoming events to check out.
Fayetteville Korean Baptist Church spring roll sale
Though not necessarily a festival, a sure sign of spring each year is the Korean church's annual spring roll sale. Fayetteville Korean Baptist Church on Cliffdale Road is offering spring rolls at $10 per dozen, and bulgogi beef meals served with two spring rolls, rice and cucumber kimchi for $12. All proceeds benefit mission ministries, according to the event flyer.

Food Truck Warz
Food Truck Warz is a festival-style event that brings together 10 to 20 food trucks, a DJ, and thousands of attendees who vote to decide which truck takes home a trophy, organizer Busta Brown told The Observer in November.
The organization will celebrate its one-year anniversary next month with a food truck and food vendor face-off in Parkton, a Robeson County town about 15 miles from Fayetteville’s city center. No alcohol is permitted at the family-friendly event.

Dogwood Festival
Country music acts Ashland Craft and David Nail, rock acts Lit and Buckcherry and a Michael Jackson tribute band will take the stage at the 41st Dogwood Festival in April.
Festivities will include food trucks, arts and crafts vendors, children’s activities, a climbing wall and an axe-throwing trailer, a BMX bike show and car, motorcycle and truck show.
Attendance is free, but paid VIP tickets for concerts and a food and wine event are available.

Fort Bragg Fair
The annual Fort Bragg fair returns to the area in May. It will be open to the public and will feature carnival rides and live entertainment, according to the Fort Bragg Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation website.
Gates open at 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and at 1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets include admission, unlimited rides, entertainment and parking.

Fayetteville NC Taco & Beer festival
The Fayetteville NC Taco & Beer festival may be back after a two-year hiatus, organizer Malia Allen said. It was last held in 2021 at Westwood Shopping Center, but the property’s new owners have yet to give Allen permission to hold the event, which is tentatively scheduled for early May, she said.
If all goes well, dozens of vendors will again offer tacos, beer and other merchandise, she said.

Mac & Cheese Throwdown
Revolutionary Coworking will host Mac & Cheese Throwdown at Dirtbag Ales in early May. Contestants may represent restaurants, food trucks, catering businesses or be home cooks. A panel of judges and up to 200 attendees will sample the entries to determine a winner.
