COLUMBIANA – Bicyclists from across northeast Ohio and western Pennsylvania will gather Sunday to celebrate Spring in Columbiana County, Ohio.

A tradition since 1995, it is sponsored by the Out-Spokin' Wheelmen bicycling club, which is marking its 50th anniversary this year.

The regional event in which all cyclists are invited to ride begins at 8 a.m. in Firestone Park, 347 E. Park Ave.

The main cycling route is a flat-to-rolling, 35-mile loop through small towns and scenic countryside, including the Little Beaver Creek Greenway Trail.

Participants will ride at their own pace during the event, which runs 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., with support vehicles available for riders needing assistance. The ride will be held rain or shine.

A snack stop will be set at the rail station in historic downtown Lisbon. After the loop ride, riders will receive Pizza Hut for lunch.

Participants can then opt to ride an additional 28-mile loop to achieve a total of 63 miles. The $35 ride fee includes the snack and lunch.

Helmets are mandatory.

Riders may register online at outspokinwheelmen.com or in person from 8 to 10 a.m. Sunday at Firestone Park.
