If there's ever a time to update your nail polish collection, it's at the start of spring. While you prepare to stow away your winter gloves and dust off your open-toed shoes, you might as well choose a new signature shade (or five) to show off once warm weather hits.
Without fail you can always expect to see light pastel colors trend during the spring, while deeper, vampy shades take a back seat. This year, you're bound to see a lot of one pastel shade in particular. Lavender will be everywhere, says OPI co-founder Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, who finds the shade "simultaneously energizing and calming." In case pastels aren't your vibe, you can also expect to see a lot of "bold, saturated hues," predicts Weiss-Fischmann. True, spring is eight weeks away at this point, but nail brands have already begun dropping their spring 2022 nail colors. And if you're already itching to update your look for spring, trying out a new pastel polish is a lot less drastic than, say, baring your legs in a tennis skirt. Another of Weiss-Fischmann's favorite spring 2022 OPI nail colors — which, FYI, were created in collaboration with Xbox — is Can't CTRL Me. She deems it "a serene and uplifting periwinkle blue, that goes well with everything."
Deborah Lippmann Galaxy Far Far Away
Deborah Lippman's spring nail colors for 2022 take inspiration from space. Part of the celestial color palette, this turquoise nail polish contains biotin, keratin, and rice protein to fortify your nails.
OPI Trading Paint
Also within Weiss-Fischmann's top three for spring 2022, OPI Trading Paint is "a pastel apricot crème that combines saturated orange with nude tones that have been so popular," she says. This iteration of the shade from the brand's Infinite Shine Collection promises a gel-like finish and long-lasting color when applied with a corresponding primer and top coat.
Côte No. 59 Chartreuse Green
Hop on the creamy chartreuse bandwagon with this striking shade. Côte's polishes are vegan, and cruelty-free, and you can mail used bottles back to the company as part of a recycling program.
