Thursday's results

The Satellite High boys tennis team went two extra miles to make it to the Class 2A state tennis tournament for the third consecutive season, defeating Lake Highland Prep in Orlando, 4-3.

Tied at three match wins each and the final doubles match tied at a set each, darkness forced the teams to travel to a new location to decide the winner. The No. 2 Scorps doubles team of Roman Vigliotti and Marcus Hatzakis came home with a 4-6, 6-4, 11-9 win to take the match for the team. Having started the day's contest at 3 p.m., the Scorps finally claimed victory at 9:15.

The No. 1 doubles team of Caleb Domkowski-Jack Lindstrom won their match 6-3, 6-1, and each won his singles match. Satellite has finished as the 2A state runner-up the last two years, but the top two players graduated from the 2022 group.
