'Spring Shorts': One-act play series onstage at North River Theater in Norwell

NORWELL – A takeoff on film noir, a drama about sisterhood and a first-date comedy are three of the one-act plays that make up North River Theater's upcoming "Spring Shorts."

The troupe will continue its season with a festival of eight short plays by six local directors. The lineup:

  • "You're in My Thoughts," directed by Lindsay Clinton and featuring Maryanne Cartier, Joe Miller, Jamie Poskitt and Chris Cartier.

  • "Trash Talk," directed by Laura Dunkum and featuring Dan Kirichok and John Mahoney.

  • "Haunted," directed by Kevin Lowney and featuring Mandy Ecknoff, Jamie Poskitt, Joan-Marie Dewsnap, Don Smith and Margaret O'Brien.

  • "Porch Revival," directed by Maryanne Cartier and featuring Lindsay Clinton and Jane Cartier.

  • "Remote," directed by Gerry Bova and featuring Bill Houldcroft and Bob Whitman.

Performances will be at 8 p.m. April 21-22 and April 28-29 and 2 p.m. April 23 and 30.

North River Theater is at 513 River St. Theatergoers may bring their own snacks, but drinks must be bought at the theater's cash bar. Tickets cost $25. For more information, call 781-826-4878 or go to northrivertheater.org.
