Spring Township church announces new pastor [Religion Digest]

Jul. 1----Lincoln Park Community United Methodist Church, 1 Carlisle Ave., Spring Township, welcomes the Rev. Dr. Quentin Wallace as its new pastor, replacing the Rev. Dr. Christopher Kurien, who retired. Wallace previously served at Covenant United Methodist Church in Lancaster. He resides in Sinking Spring along with his wife, Dr. Brenda Ingram Wallace, and their three children. His first service will be Sunday at 10 a.m. There will be a reception following the service.

—Zion Spies Evangelical Reformed Church, 318 Spies Church Road, Alsace Township, will hold a flea market and bake sale next Saturday from 7 a.m.-1 p.m. Egg sandwiches, hotdogs and hamburgers will be available for purchase. —Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Road, Douglass Township, Montgomery County, will have coffee and conversation on Sunday at 8:30 and 10 a.m. in the Welcome Center.

—St. John's Lutheran Church, 45 N. Reading Ave., Boyertown, will have a free drive-through, take-out meal today from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. No registration necessary.

—Caroline Bashore, a graduate of Lancaster Theological Seminary, will be the worship leader in July and August during the sabbatical of the Rev. Frances Merkel at St. Joh's Gernant's Church (A Federated Congregation), 12 Gernant's Church Road, Ontelaunee Township. "Let There Be Peace on Earth" will be sung by Fern Kulp.

—The Rev. Kerry Smart will be the guest preacher on Sunday at the 9 and 10:30 a.m. worship services at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 5 W. Arch St., Fleetwood. Coffee hour will be held after the first service.

—Sheri Rowe will offer a vocal service at the 10:15 a.m. service on Sunday at United Church of Christ of Robesonia, 301 W. Penn Ave. The Walking Group will meet in the church parking lot today at 8:30 a.m. with Elsa Wertz as the leader.

—Christ Episcopal Church, 435 Court St., Reading, will present a forum on the lexionary readings for Sunday, led by Fr. Bryce Wandrey, at 9:05 in the parlor. Parking is available at the Abe Lincoln Hotel parking garage and the M&T Bank lot, both off of Washington Street. Handicap spaces are available beside the church on Court Street.

—Betsy Majewski will be the guest preacher at the 9:30 a.m. worship service on Sunday at Calvary United Church of Christ, 640 Centre Ave., Reading.

—Zion's Spies Evangelical Reformed Church, 318 Spies Church Road, Alsace Township, will feature Janet and Noel Weidner singing "Heart of God" during the 10:30 a.m. worship service on Sunday.
