Spring training 2022: Here's how to get tickets to all the teams playing in metro Phoenix

Ready to soak up the sun while watching your favorite baseball team? Missed those ballpark hotdogs? Finally: MLB spring training 2022 is set to kick off in metro Phoenix.

The return of baseball comes after a lengthy standoff between Major League Baseball and the players’ association. On March 10, both parties agreed to terms for a new collective bargaining agreement, ending a 99-day deadlock.

Fifteen teams play their spring training games at 10 ballparks around the Valley, so there is plenty of opportunity to enjoy a day in the sun. Here’s how to get tickets to spring training 2022 games in metro Phoenix.

When is Cactus League spring training 2022?

Spring training games will be played March 17-April 5. Opening day of the regular season will be April 7. Players began reporting to camps in Arizona and Florida on March 11 and official workouts started March 14.

When do spring training tickets go on sale?

The Diamondbacks ripped out the grass at the field ahead of the 2019 season, replacing it with the artificial turf. The team says they've saved about 16 million gallons of water because of it.

Season tickets are already on sale, as are single-game tickets at some ballparks. Check your favorite team's website for more information. The Arizona Diamondbacks said their Cactus League tickets will go on sale March 15.

How much do spring training tickets cost?

Ticket prices vary based on a number of factors: the team, stadium, day of week and time of day. You could get a $12 general admission ticket to a Milwaukee Brewers game at American Family Fields of Phoenix or a prime seat for a San Francisco Giants weekend game at Scottsdale Stadium for $80 or more.

Where do I buy spring training tickets?

Go to your favorite team's website, or go to https://cactusleague.com, which has a page for each team. You also can buy tickets on each ballpark's website (see the list below). If your preferred date is sold out, try a reseller such as Stub Hub.

Spring training COVID-19 protocols

The Cactus League has no official COVID-19 requirements for fans at spring training games. Individual venues are free to set their own rules.

“The Cactus League is monitoring the COVID-19 situation," said Bridget Binsbacher, Cactus League executive director. "At this time, we do not anticipate attendance restrictions for the 2022 Cactus League season.

"As for COVID-19 protocols, fans are advised to check with their respective ballparks ahead of time.”
