Spring Training schedules announced for Astros, Nationals, Cardinals, Marlins

The 2022 MLB season is winding down, but the Boys of Summer already are thinking about spring training.

The Ballpark of the Palm Beaches (Astros, Nationals) and Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium (Marlins, Cardinals) have announced their 2023 Grapefruit League schedules.

Tickets will go on sale at a later date for games at both stadiums, but reservations for suites and party decks at the Ballpark of the Palm Beaches can be made starting on Sept. 1 at noon.

The Ballpark of the Palm Beaches opener will have the Houston Astros hosting the New York Mets on Saturday, Feb. 25. The following day, Sunday, Feb. 26, the Washington Nationals open their home campaign against the Astros.

Stadium improvements: New $108 million stadium upgrade will keep Cardinals, Marlins in Jupiter until at least 2049

Both teams will host 15 home games each throughout the Grapefruit League season, which concludes on Sunday, March 26.

At Roger Dean, the Cardinals will host the Nationals on Feb. 25. The Marlins will make their home debut on Feb. 26 against the Cardinals. In total, there will be 30 games played at the complex, with both clubs hosting 15 games.

Also, both stadiums will host World Baseball Classic games.

At The Ballpark of the Palm Beaches, the Astros will play on March 8 and the Nationals will play on March 9. Their opponents will be announced at a later date. Additionally, there will be games at Roger Dean those same two dates before the action moves south to Miami and loanDepot park for Pool D group play, the quarterfinals, semifinals and championship.

And, for the first time since the COVID pandemic curtailed spring training in 2020, teams will be traveling across the state to play here. The New York Yankees, Atlanta Braves, Boston Red Sox and the Detroit Tigers will play in West Palm Beach once each.

The Red Sox, Yankees, Tampa Bay Rays, and Detroit Tigers will be playing games in Jupiter.
