SPRINGDALE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — A Springdale man was arrested after he allegedly followed a family to their home and pointed a gun at them after a traffic incident, according to a police report.

Ray Alvarez, 22, was booked into the Washington County Jail on Wednesday on four counts of aggravated assault.

According to a police report, Springdale police responded to a residence just after 5 p.m. to an armed subject call near Maple Drive and Quandt Avenue. The caller told police he accidentally cut off a pickup truck in traffic.

He said the driver of the pickup followed him home, yelled at him and pulled a gun on him, according to the report.

When the man realized Alvarez followed him home, he left his car to talk with the suspect.

The driver’s wife and two children stayed in the car during the talk. The report said Alvarez pointed a gun at the victim and “asked if he wanted some.”

Both the victim and his wife wanted to press charges because they were afraid he would return and shoot up their home, according to the report.

Alvarez was released on a $75,000 bond on Friday afternoon and has a court date set for May 1.
