SPRINGDALE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Springdale Mayor Doug Sprouse announced on February 27 that he will seek a fifth term as the city’s mayor.

He made the announcement during his State of the City address this evening. During the address, he said he felt energized and still had a strong conviction to continue as the city’s mayor.

“I want to do what is best for Springdale. If I’m not the person to be running Springdale, be the mayor of Springdale then I don’t want to be here. I’ll go do something else. That is the same attitude I had when I ran the first time. But, I do believe I am not finished yet, and I guess the people of Springdale will decide that,” Sprouse said.

The mayor also talked about several projects that are coming to the city including the library expansion project and the expansion of Shiloh Memorial Park.
