The team has the support from the entire Springfield City School District who got out of school early at 11 a.m. Friday to give students and staff a chance to head up to Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton.

Two school buses will be used to shuttle students to the game to support the players as they work for a different result from last year.

The Wildcats lost to the Eagles in the finals last year and have worked hard to make it to this game tonight for a second chance.

Springfield Athletic Director, Mike Dellapina, is grateful for the love the team has received.

“I think it’s overwhelming at times,” Dellapina said. “I don’t think that you can really appreciate it until you’re there and you see all the people that have come to support your efforts.”

The Wildcats are not the only Miami Valley schools playing for state titles in Canton this weekend.
